About
I'm Karthik Bedre, a software engineer with a focus on mobile engineering.
Engineering
I work as a software engineer at Expedia, where my work centers on mobile applications and the platform side of mobile engineering. My interests include mobile systems, software architecture, modularity, and engineering infrastructure — the practices and tooling that make software easier to build, change, and maintain.
AI-Driven Engineering
AI is becoming a practical part of the engineering workflow — how code is written, reviewed, tested, and operated. I'm interested in where it genuinely helps, where it doesn't, and what it means for how engineering teams and systems are designed. That is the focus of this publication.
Open source
I maintain AI Agent Engineering, a public collection of portable plugins, skills, agents, and examples for reliable AI-assisted engineering work across frontend, backend, mobile, data, infrastructure, security, reliability, and platform systems. The first plugin includes stateful-skill, which creates or converts Agent Skills that can resume long-running workflows from external state.
The articles on this site explain the underlying engineering patterns. The repository turns selected patterns into tools that engineers can inspect, install, and adapt to their own systems.
Writing
This site is where I publish articles about those ideas: experiments, architectural decisions, and practical lessons from building software. New writing appears on the articles page and in the RSS feed.
